Does your child struggle with test anxiety? Do you prefer alternative assessments to high-stakes comprehensive tests?
In order to comply with reporting requirements of many states, parents need to submit end-of-year test results or a portfolio evaluation.
As a certified teacher, I am qualified to evaluate students’ progress over the course of an academic year.
In order to complete an evaluation, I will need sample work from your child in the areas of language arts and math. It is beneficial to keep a portfolio of work throughout the year.
Here is a list of examples of work that will demonstrate learning and progress:
Tests/quizzes
Workbooks
Narrations
Essays
Projects
Video of student reading
Interviews with the student
A list of books the student read independently
In addition to the evidence listed above, I will also need a list of other subjects covered and curriculum used.
After I’ve completed reviewing your student’s work, you will receive an electronic letter that you can submit to your local school district.
For an additional fee, I can provide an evaluation with feedback that includes recommendations for academic improvement as well as highlights of your student’s strengths. This more comprehensive evaluation is for your reference and is not intended to be submitted to the school district.
Basic Portfolio Evaluation – $47
Comprehensive Portfolio Evaluation – $67
