Who’s By Your Side?

The God of Angel Armies is always by my side.”

These lyrics filled my mind this morning.

On my way to school, I repeat I trust you Lord, I trust you.

I tell the Lord I know he gives good gifts and his word says he doesn’t give rocks when we ask for bread, but today feels as if I have a pocket full of rocks.

As the boys sit quietly in the backseat of the car (a rare occurrence) I turn the radio up and there it is.

Chris Tomlin singing “Whom Shall I Fear.”

The God of Angel Armies is always by my side.”

A gift.

Do you know how the song begins?

You hear me when I call, You are my morning song

The song I was singing in my heart as I got ready for work was playing for me.  A gift to remind me that He hears me.

Then as I sing, I hear a sweet voice behind me.  My oldest singing along.

A gift.

A gift to remind me I don’t battle alone.

The Lord surrounds me with others to sing His truth and His praises.

He hears us when we call and he gives us a battle song.

no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord    Isaiah 54:17

But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard.   Isaiah 52:12

Today may you know who is on your side.

Today be a gift and join another in her battle.
