Can’t Stop Me

“Mom, mom, do you hear me?”

“Yes, I hear you?”

I must reply I am actively listening before he continues with the conversation.

“Do you know what the devil doesn’t like?

“What, Buddy?”

“He doesn’t like when I tell others about Jesus.”

He’s four.  Where does he learn this?

“That’s right,” I reply.  “So the devil tries to stop us.”

“Well, he can’t stop me!”

Them are some fightin’ words.

Oh, to have my son’s attitude.

Nothing is going to stop him, not even a hole in is footie pajamas.
Nothing is going to stop him, not even a hole in is footie pajamas.

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 18-20

As my son knows, we have an enemy who doesn’t like it when we tell others about Jesus and His great love for His people.  Our enemy employs tactics of fear, distraction, self-focus, apathy, and lack of faith to stop us from following Jesus’ orders to teach others about Him wherever we are and whatever we are doing.

Them are some fightin’ words.

When we begin to fight for others, when we begin to fight for salvation with the attitude that the devil can’t stop us, watch out!  We are becoming a mighty warriors.

Remember, we don’t fulfill Jesus’ orders alone.  No.  Jesus promises to be with us, with us to the end.  He gives us the courage, the love, the power, and the words to speak to teach others about who He is and what He has done.

What if we determined to follow the command of the great commission?

Today, have the child-like faith and declare, he can’t stop me!
